Section 6 - Conference Calls

A Handy feature of IPECS One is the ability to quickly start a CONFERENCE CALL without involving a lot of extra equipment.

A conference call is when several contacts all join one call, as if they are all having one big conversation.

This can be a useful alternative to a ‘meeting’ which would usually involve everybody travelling to a central location, which can be inconvenient and hard to organise!

There are two ways to do this,

The first is using the Audio Conference Bridge, which is when users CALL a number to join a conference.

This is a software-based feature for planned conferences, and can be for 8 users, 25 users or 100 users.

This requires a LICENSE for the correct level of users required.

This can be administered ahead of time, with emails sent to users, appointments added to calendars and a response saying who will be attending.

For more information, see the Audio Conference Bridge (ACB) Document.

Ad-Hoc Conference Call

The second way is an Ad-HOC Conference call.

This is what happens when you ADD PARTICIAPNTS to a call

To start an ad-hoc conference call, begin a call as normal.

Once you are on the call, you can see the calls participants by clicking the button that looks like the picture below.

This button is in the top right hand corner of the screen.

To invite another member, click the blue + button in the bottom right of the screen.

When the window appears, search for the contact you would like to add to the conference call.

Click on the contact, then click INVITE.

Once the contact accepts the call, click the conference button (as pictured below)

Once you have clicked this, and al users will all be on a conference call together.

From here, you can see all of the call’s participants.

When you are ready to end the call, click the red phone icon at the bottom of the screen.
